Volunteer Now!
CIEF supports a number of programs and activities throughout the year that offer unique volunteer opportunities!
Not only will you gain a first-hand experience and appreciation of the educational impact of a program… or the exhiliration of contributing to a successful fundraiser that in turn supports and reinforces such programs… but you’ll also become part of the personalized delivery of these services to very thankful and motivated beneficiaries!
Following are a sampling of these opportunities:
SRBX Design/Build ~ School Liaison (secondary school staff/program) ; Plans & Specifications Review; Community Support & Sponsorship Team; Event Planning & Coordination; School Safety Visits; Project Set-Up - Day Priors; Safety Inspection Teams – Day 1, Day 2; Awards Judging Team – Day 2.
ACE Mentoring ~ Mentoring at one of approximately fifteen regional high schools (every other week after school for one semester); diversified mentoring background desired for each school — for example, representative of architecture, general contracting, subcontracting trades, engineering, supply firms, professional and/or service enterprises that support the industry; judges for the Saturday team presentation competition; Scholarship & Awards Dinner committee.
CIEF Charity Golf Classic ~ The major CIEF fundraising event of the year is traditionally hosted at Northridge Country Club on the third Monday in September. The Charity Golf Classic provides an opportunity to serve on several committees that plan, promote and prepare primarily during the four months preceding the event. Another twenty volunteer positions develop during the week preceding and at North Ridge on September 19th. Our Volunteer Coordinator, Gary Fabian, served in this capacity for the Gordon Stafford Scholarship Tournament (which had a 12-year run before those scholarships became a CIEF program in 2007), and knows how to make helping out very efficient and great fun!
