Spring-2011 ~ CIEF Sporting Clays ~ Friday, May 20
This popular Spring event is hosted at Camanche Hills Hunting Preserve near Ione. The hills and terrain along the northern shores of Camanche Reservoir provide a scenic backdrop to Marshall Skinner’s challenging layout – a 10-station, 100-target marksmanship competition that has proven to be very popular and theraputic!
The five pairs of targets deployed at each station present shooters a wide range of flight patterns and direction – enough to challenge even the most capable of each team’s five shooters. But that’s a big help, when it comes to whipping up strong appetites for Joyce’s Tri-Tip BBQ lunch… not to mention cobbler desert!
A full-team, 5-pair Championship Shoot-Off follows.
And it provides great theater for those viewing from the bleachers – perched on the edge of a plateau along a hillside canyon, just above the five shooting stations. Championship Team shooters are awarded their choice of a Two-Bird Chucker Hunt in-season, or a round of Sporting Clays at Camanche Hills – plus the admiration and envy of the other marksmen… until our next competitive opportunity arrives!
CIEF Charity Golf Classic ~ Monday, September 19, 2011
Our major fundraiser of the year will be hosted at the prestigious North Ridge Country Club on the third Monday in September.
This very popular event blends the 15-year history of a tournament supporting five 5-year scholarships for minority California residents progressing toward their undergraduate architectural degrees at NCIA-accredited programs, with the development and maturation of the Construction Industry Educational Foundation in support of its myriad programs and other scholarships.
Super cause… great fun and fellowship… the terrific North Ridge course meticulously maintained in a classic country club setting – all of that, plus very deserving needs to be served — makes for one terrific event, and a LOT of big smiles!
Fall-2011 ~ CIEF Trap Shoot ~ Friday, November 11
Our annual Trap Shoot is contested at the conveniently-accessed Rancho Cordova Shooting Center on the second Friday in November.
Just a short drive from anywhere in our region, and mere moments away from the Sunrise Boulevard exit from Highway 50, you won’t be sorry you signed for this traditional Turkey Shoot! Well, the targets are clay… and they fly a little further and a little faster than most turkeys… but members of the Championship Team each take home a certificate for not only the Thanksgiving Turkey — but all the trimmings, too!
Start the day at the office, but plan to come join us for lunch – Roy’s fabulous BBQ Chicken ‘n Ribs – and then finish your week off with a blast!
Actually, make that 75 blasts… from your shotgun! Or a hundred blasts, should your team finish in the top two of your division, and you take part in the Shoot-Off!!
Just don’t forget to reserve that November 11 afternoon on your business calendar… and start recruiting your team, like now! While you’re at it, you might also want to set some reminders to start practicing before Hallowe’en rolls around!
