About Us
WHO ARE WE?
Created by the Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange in 2004, the Construction Industry Educational Foundation (CIEF) was established to support industry educational programs throughout our seven-county region.
WHAT DO WE DO?
As a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation, our motto is “Empowering Workforce Renewal & Development through Education”!
Our prime focus is helping to develop the next generation of our design and construction industry workforce by stimulating, supporting and promoting educational programs that signficiantly benefit industry organizations, employees and the communities they serve.
HOW DO WE DO IT?
We accomplish this through support of construction and design curriculum in our region’s secondary school system, by supplementing those classes with private sector mentoring in structured design/build programs, promoting a variety of rewarding construction and design careers, and providing multiple post-secondary scholarship programs.
In addition, through a now seven-year old Statewide Safety Expo, we also are able to enhance the safety, flexibility and productivity of today’s existing workforce — which is also a vital pursuit!
Much of the financial support for these programs is generated through contributions and sponsorships from firms among the some 1,300 members of the Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange (prodominantly commercial construction and design firms, trade contractors, professional service and supply organizations) and by CIEF fundraising events staggered throughout the year.
